Neubig, ttneubig@hengineers.com (No calls) The City of Hamtramck is Soliciting Sealed Bids From Qualified Contractors for 2026-2027 Lead Service Line Replacement Program in Accordance With the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (Egle) Lead and Copper Rule. This project involves the replacement of lead and galvanized service lines previously connected to lead (GPCL) from the water main to a minimum of 18 inches inside the building or to the meter, using one (1) inch Type K copper piping. All work must comply with EGLE standards and specifications for full-service line replacement. Please be sure to review the measurement of payment, specifically for what is included in the Lead Water Service Replacement Line item. This project is funded through an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Grant. The project requires Davis-Bacon prevailing wages. Minority Business Enterprises (MBE), Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE), and Women-Owned Business Enterprises (WBE) will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids on this contract and will not be subject to discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, or sex in consideration of this award. This work will take place in the Northeast Quadrant of the city, along the specified streets in the itemized bid sheet. The project will be awarded through three (3) contracts. Contractors shall make sure that if they bid on all 3 contracts, they can complete all 3 contracts by the stated date. The work consists of the following contracts: Contract 1 - Installation of 197 Full Lead Service Line Replacement along Moran from Capenter to Caniff (3 City blocks) and Klinger from Commor to Casmere (1 City block). Contract 2 - Installation of 256 Full Lead Service Line Replacement along Sobeski from Carpenter to Caniff (3 City blocks) and Galagher from Carpenter to Caniff (3 City blocks). Contract 3 - Installation of 216 Full Lead Service Line Replacement along Charest from Carpenter to Caniff (3 City blocks), McDougal from Commor to Caniff (2 City blocks), and Mitchell from Carpenter to Commor.
