The contractor shall perform the maintenance and repairs necessary to ensure the John Day Tree Cooler's glycol-based refrigeration system, including humidity control components and fan systems, maintains the temperature and humidity required to store conifer tree seedlings throughout the planting season. The cooler, located within the Forest Service compound, has operated since 1982 with incremental updates to its glycol tank, refrigeration system, humidifier, control panel, and fan systems. Services will support continued reliable operation of the existing system for up to three years, with work required in FY2026 and Option Years FY2027 and FY2028 exercised only if needed pending installation of a new refrigeration system.
