Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Mount Laurel, New Jersey. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.

The work includes the furnishing of all labor, material, and equipment necessary or required to complete all work set forth in these specifications. The approximate estimated quantities for the major base bid work items are summarized as follows: mobilization, site item demolition, stripping and stockpiling topsoil, evergreen and deciduous tree removal, concrete and asphalt paving removal, site earthwork, imported fill, construction of concrete unit retaining walls, installation of ornamental and vinyl fences and gates, asphalt and concrete paving, walkways, steps, riverstone and aluminum edging for landscaping, synthetic turf, drinking fountain installation, ADA curb ramps, pavement markings and signage, electric service for pavilion and splash park system, PVC water service line, storm drains and underdrains, cleanout structures, construction entrance, erosion control matting, temporary compost filter logs, silt fence, inlet protection, installation of stockpiled topsoil, seeding, fertilizing and mulching, price adjustments for asphalt and fuel, and a contingency allowance. Bids must be made on the standard proposal form, enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing the name and address of the bidder and the name of the project on the outside, addressed to the Township. Bids must be accompanied by a certified check, bid bond, or cashier's check drawn to the order of the Township for ten percent of the total amount bid, not to exceed $20,000, along with executed consent from an approved surety company agreeing to furnish the required performance, payment, and maintenance bonds upon contract award. The accepted bidder must sign the contract within ten days after the notice of award or forfeit their bid security. All work must comply with applicable laws, including the requirements of N.J.S.A 10:5-31 et seq., N.J.A.C. 17:27, and the Prevailing Wage Act, Chapter 150, Laws of 1963. The Township reserves the right to reject any or all bids, in whole or in part, waive any informalities, and take action as deemed in its best interest. 1. Coordination with State CO-OP contractor for their playground and splash park equipment, furniture and pavilion installation, spray park recirculation system and collection tank as well as the playground PIP rubber surface and splash pad colored concrete pad. 2. Soil erosion and sediment control measures. 3. Set up traffic and pedestrian control and detours. 4. Strip topsoil within the limits of work and stockpile. 5. Site demolition in accordance with the plans. 6. Site grading. 7. Storm drainage structures and piping. 8. Electrical service and GFI outlets at pavilion and electric service for the splash park recirculation system. 9. Water service to supply the drinking fountain and splash park recirculation system. 10. Segmental concrete unit retaining walls. 11. On-site concrete curbing and within Marne Highway County right-of-way. 12. On-site concrete sidewalks and within Marne Highway County right-of-way. 13. On-site ADA curb ramps and within Marne Highway County right-of-way. 14. Concrete steps with metal handrails. 15. Ornamental aluminum fencing and gates. 16. Vinyl fencing and gates. 17. ADA accessible drinking fountain with bottle filler. 18. Concrete pad for pavilion. 19. Synthetic turf areas. 20. Crushed stone areas with metal edging. 21. Full depth asphalt paving with stone subbase. 22. Mill and overlay of asphalt pavement. 23. Pavement striping and markings. 24. Site signage. 25. Topsoiling, seeding, mulching and fertilization of disturbed areas. 26. Removal of traffic control, barricades, protection measures, and general site clean-up. The work for this project consists of the following items as indicated on the site plans: 1. Strip topsoil and stockpile on site. 2. Demolish existing concrete paving as noted on plans. 3. Site clearing of various species of tree. 4. Grade and installation of concrete walkways & curbing. 5. Install fencing as noted on plans. 6. Install retaining wall as noted on plans. 7. Mill & Overlay existing asphalt parking lot and remove material from the site. 8. Install concrete steps with & without handrails. 9. Installation of perforated HDPE Underdrain. 10. Install water fountain water service & splash park supply line. Includes connection to existing inlet. 11. Installation of electric service. 12. Installation of seal coat on existing asphalt paving as well as pavement markings. 13. Installation of concrete wheel stops. 14. Installation of ADA parking signage. 15. Finished site grading and installation of topsoil, seed fertilizer and mulch. 16. Restoring of disturbed vegetated/lawn areas. As a minimum, all lawns shall be restored with topsoil, fertilizer, seed, and mulch. Other materials shall be restored in-kind.
