This project is for the replacement of the POE scale and scale pit for the Northern POE building in Lamar. The goal is to provide the weigh station with a new scale pit primarily made of concrete, which will contain a new scale provided and installed by other parties. All work must be performed according to the engineer's specifications, and the bidding contractors are to verify all specifications. The scope of services includes full construction contracting services for the project specified during construction and the warranty period. Tasks to be performed are those generally expected from the construction community when the contractor is the prime vendor. Bidders must reference the drawings, specifications, and supporting documents in the Appendices for a full understanding of the project scope. Minimum requirements include not having been previously terminated by the State for non-performance, being in the same business under the same name for the last two years, demonstrating experience in at least two similar projects over $750,000 utilizing staff from their Colorado office, demonstrating bonding capability up to $1,500,000, and attendance at the mandatory pre-bid conference. The awarded contractor must provide payment and performance bonds if the contract is $150,000 or more, and the cost must be included in the bid. All work must comply with Colorado state requirements, including employment of Colorado labor for at least 80% of the work, and adherence to the provided terms and conditions.
