Site work for a water / sewer project in Waterloo, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The extent of the work includes directionally drilled 12-inch diameter water main installations on W. Orange Rd. from the west City Limits to the existing water main on the west side of Kimball Ave. totaling approximately 2,636 linear feet in length and directionally drilled 8-inch diameter water main installations on A B Ave. from West Orange Rd. to approximately 90 feet North of Lichty Blvd., being approximately 518 linear feet in length, and on Grace Dr. from West Orange Rd. to Sidehill Dr., being approximately 836 linear feet in length, plus water services and appurtenances to replace existing water mains and construct new water mains in public road right of way and water main easements in the City of Waterloo, Iowa. Construction must commence within ten calendar days of the issuance of a Notice to Proceed. The contractor must be substantially complete with fully functioning water mains by August 31, 2026, and entirely complete with all aspects of the project including seeding and restoration by September 30, 2026. Proposals must be made on official forms, enclosed in a separate sealed envelope, and identified as a bid for this project. Each proposal must be accompanied by either cash, a certified check, or a bid bond in the amount equal to five percent of the amount of the proposal. Successful bidders must furnish corporate surety bonds equal to 100% of the contract price, guaranteeing faithful performance and payment for materials and labor and the maintenance of improvements in good repair for two years after completion and acceptance. The contractor will be paid bi-monthly estimates at ninety-five percent of completed and approved work, with final payment thirty-one days after completion and acceptance by the Board, subject to proof that all subcontractors, workmen, and suppliers have been paid in full. Time is an essential element of this contract, and liquidated damages of $500 per day will apply for work not completed on time. Consideration will be given to the lowest responsible bidder, but the Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
