Site work and new construction of an industrial development in Waterloo, Iowa. Completed plans call for the construction of a 24,805-square-foot industrial development.
The general scope of work includes, but is not limited to: Construction of a new approximately 24,805 SF Vehicle Maintenance Shop including the main building, a controlled waste handling facility, a flammable materials handling facility, electricity producing photovoltaic system, and a geothermal heating loop system. The Vehicle Maintenance Shop building contains one classroom, work bays, latrine/shower/locker room spaces, administration areas, and support spaces. Alternate bids include a single girder bridge crane; 8" PCC in lieu of gravel for all drive and parking paving, excluding concrete building aprons and various pads; 8" PCC in lieu of gravel at main building circular drive; high density storage system; and photovoltaic array size. Bids must be uploaded on the State of Iowa IMPACS system. All construction contractors must comply with Chapter 91C of Iowa Code. Bidders must comply with affirmative action/equal employment opportunity provisions of the State of Iowa and the Federal Government. The Iowa Department of Public Defense seeks opportunities for Targeted Small Businesses under Chapter 73 of the Code of Iowa. The Iowa Department of Public Defense reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive irregularities. This project is exempt from Iowa Sales Tax. Build America Buy America Act applies.
