Demolition, site work and paving for a water / sewer project in Vancouver, Washington. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; for the demolition of a water / sewer project; and for paving for a water / sewer project.
The project is awarded to Tapani Inc. in the amount of $4,748,972.56 The work involves the construction of all components for the Salmon Creek Treatment Plant UV System Replacement. This includes disassembly and modification or demolition of an existing steel canopy at the UV facility, construction of a concrete channel (Channel 2) parallel to the existing UV disinfection channel (Channel 1), and installation of a UV lamp system in Channel 2 while keeping the existing UV system in Channel 1 operational. Additional tasks consist of demolition and replacement of existing equipment, excavation, reinforced concrete, electrical work, instrumentation and control, yard piping, paving, and construction phase stormwater management. Diving is required to accomplish the work. There is a mandatory requirement for 15% apprentice labor hours of the total labor hours for the project. All bids must include a bid deposit in the form of a surety Bid Bond, certified check, cashier's check, or cash totaling five percent (5%) of the bid amount. The bidder must submit a PDF copy of the Bid Bond and provide the original upon request. If a Bid Bond cannot be provided, a certified or cashier's check or cash must be delivered in a sealed envelope with the Bid Name and Number to the District office prior to the bid deadline. Successful bidders must enter into a contract and furnish a satisfactory performance bond as outlined, or forfeit the bid proposal deposit. Bidders must comply with federal and state equal opportunity and minority business enterprise requirements, including the President's Executive Orders #11246, #12138, and 11625, the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Davis-Bacon Act, and applicable American Iron and Steel and Build America, Buy America (BABA) provisions. Bidders must also certify that they do not, and will not, provide segregated facilities for their employees based on race, color, creed, or national origin. MBE/WBE firms are encouraged to submit bids. This project is located at the Salmon Creek Treatment Plant , 15100 NW McCann Road , Vancouver , WA 98685 . Per RCW 39.04.320 , mandatory 15% apprentice labor hours of the total labor hours are a requirement of the construction contract . Bidders may contact the Department of Labor & Industries , Apprenticeship Section , to obtain information on available apprenticeship programs .
