The Town of West Springfield, through its Department of Public Works, is seeking sealed bids from qualified contractors for safety improvements on the Main Street corridor. The project generally includes, but is not limited to, roadway reconstruction, pavement reclamation, pavement milling, roadway resurfacing, installation of granite curb, construction of new sidewalks and reconstruction of existing sidewalks including new pedestrian curb ramps and driveways, new pavement markings, installation of new curb extensions with raised crosswalks, new rectangular rapid flashing beacons, and minor modifications to drainage and water infrastructure. All bids for this project are subject to the provisions of M.G.L., Chapter 30, Section 39M, inclusive as amended. Minimum Wage Rates as determined by the Commissioner of the Department of Labor and Industries under the provision of the Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Sections 26 to 27H, as amended, apply to this project. MassDOT prequalification of contractors with the class of work as, Pavement Surfacing, for the project with an estimated value of $3,000,000.00 will be required. General Requirements - Bidder Prequalification/Preregistration Required - Bid Deposit Required - Certified Payroll - Insurance Required - Prevailing Wage Required Bonding Requirements - Bid Bond 5 % - Performance Bond 100 % - Payment Bond 100 % The contract shall be awarded by the Chief Procurement Officer, which reserves the right to waive any informalities, to accept or reject, in part or in whole, any and all proposals or to take whatever action may be deemed to be in the best interest of the Town of West Springfield. Bids will remain firm for sixty (60) days following the opening of proposals. All work shall be completed by October 30, 2026.
