Preventative maintenance services will be provided for the Reverse Osmosis/Deionizing System in Sterile Processing to ensure proper system performance and prevent bacterial growth. The contractor will furnish all parts, labor, materials, equipment, and supervision required to complete monthly, quarterly, and annual maintenance tasks. Monthly services include performing the preventive maintenance procedure, checking system flow, chemistry, and pressure, maintaining the anti-scalant pump and solution tank, updating information tags, replacing two ChlorPlus carbon filter cartridges, and replacing one 50-micron prefilter/5-micron postfilter cartridge. Quarterly work includes providing DI regeneration certificates and replacing two DI units. Annual services include replacing four absolute endotoxin filter cartridges, one UV bulb for a VIQUA VP600M unit, and four 1-quart containers of Peracidin disinfectant concentrate, along with providing six bottles of residual chlorine test strips and six bottles of residual peroxide test strips. Throughout the contract, the vendor will support and resolve all RO/DI system issues necessary to maintain passing test results required by Sterile Processing and will promptly notify VA personnel of any mechanical issues outside the scope of the contract.
