Sealed bids are requested for the construction of port improvements to Bulk Terminal #1 (BT-1) site, specifically electrical upgrades for main switchgear and dockside equipment in Calcasieu Parish. The type of construction required is electrical. Bids must be submitted on forms provided by the contracting agency and prepared in accordance with Section 2 of the 2018 Edition of the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, Office of Multimodal Commerce, General Provisions, and must include all required information listed on the bid form. Bid forms are available from the engineer and will not be issued later than 24 hours before bid opening. Each bid must include a proposal guaranty in an amount not less than 5% of the bid. Plans may also be obtained from the District upon payment of $100. Deposits on the first set of documents to bona fide prime bidders will be refunded upon return; additional sets will be refunded less reproduction costs. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder without discrimination, and disadvantaged businesses are encouraged to submit bids. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda mailed or delivered to all parties recorded by Engineer as having received the Bidding Documents. Questions received less than ten days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered.
