The Procurement Division for the Town of Mount Pleasant will receive bids from qualified and interested bidders for the construction of the Kenny Mile Trail shared use path and boardwalk project and the Park West Trail shared use path project, as specified within the bid documents contained herein. Deadline to submit Questions Mar 25th 2026, 12:00 PM EDT The work for the Kenny Mile Trail project consists of the construction of a 10-foot concrete shared use path along US 17 between Porchers Bluff Rd and Park West Blvd/S Morgans Point Rd to accommodate bicycles and pedestrians. Most of the path runs within an existing Mount Pleasant Waterworks easement which has cleared a 20ft wide section within the buffer of the Oakland Market Shopping Center and Lowes Home Improvement commercial area paralleling US 17. Much of that shared use path is to be constructed of concrete however, there is a 339 linear foot segments of boardwalk designed to reduce impacts to existing freshwater wetlands. A separate plan set has been included that details the nature of that work. Other work will include, but not be limited to, removal of existing concrete sidewalk, clearing and grading, select tree removal, signage and pavement marking installation, and installation of amenities such as benches, water fountains, trash facilities, and bicycle racks. The second portion of the project is the Park West Trail shared use path. The work for this project consists of the construction of a 10-foot concrete shared use path from US 17 to the roundabout at Park West Blvd. Other work will include removal of existing concrete sidewalk, clearing and grading, select tree removal, signage and pavement marking installation, and drainage efforts. Erosion control measures are to be put into place as specified in the construction plans to fulfill Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) requirements.
