Demolition, site work and new construction of an educational facility in Valdosta, Georgia. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a 150,000-square-foot educational facility; for site work for a educational facility; and for the demolition of a 125,000-square-foot educational facility.
The Lowndes County School District (LCS), on behalf of the Lowndes County Board of Education (LCBOE), is soliciting statements of qualifications from firms interested in providing professional design services for the construction of a project known as, New Lowndes Middle School, located in Lowndes County, Valdosta, Georgia. Project Description This project will involve two phases. Phase 1 will be the construction of a structure of approximately 150,000 square feet. This facility will consist of administrative offices, media center, classrooms, restrooms and a gymnasium. Phase 2 will involve demolition of approximately 125,000 square feet of existing structures and repurposing of the site. Sustainable Design The project is subject to the Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Construction Act of 2008 and it is the desire of the Owner to incorporate sustainable design and construction principles where feasible. Project Delivery Method The delivery method for this Project will be Construction Management at Risk (CMAR). The Owner will procure a Construction Manager who will serve as the constructor and hold the trade contracts.
