The work consists of the removal of existing copper-clad wood railing, copper-clad newel and end posts, wood blocking, and related items; preparation of existing steel framework at newel and end post locations; painting of existing steel with galvanizing paint; installation of new decorative railing as indicated on the drawings, including wood blocking and sheathing; and roofing pitch pockets/flashing at structural supports as indicated on the drawings. Instructions to bidders: Specifications and Bid Forms will be available to General Contractors by contacting the office of the Architect. The cost of document reproduction is the responsibility of the requesting party. Bid documents can also be examined at specified locations. Contractors are responsible for reviewing and becoming familiar with the job site conditions prior to submitting bids. Sealed bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security in the form of a Bid Bond valued at five percent (5%) of the proposer's maximum bid amount, a sworn and notarized statement disclosing any familial relationship between the bidder and the School District's Board of Education or Superintendent, and a sworn and notarized Affidavit of Compliance with the Iran Economic Sanctions Act. The Board of Education reserves the right to accept or reject any and all proposals in whole or in part, to waive informalities or irregularities, and to award the contract at its discretion.
