The project consists of milling and resurfacing of Ohio Avenue from Atchison Avenue to Sheridan Avenue, Ohio Avenue from Oliver Street to 119th Street, Schrage Avenue from 125th Street to US 12, Euclid Avenue from Atchison Avenue to US 12, and Fischrupp Avenue from Clark Street to Schrage Avenue in the City of Whiting, Indiana. Proposals must be properly and completely executed on the Bid Form provided in the Bidding Documents and must be accompanied by an executed Indiana State Board of Accounts Form 96, confirmation that copies of Addenda were received (if issued), satisfactory bid security, and other items as requested in the Bidding Documents. A certified or cashier's check payable to the City of Whiting or a bid bond in an amount equal to five percent of the bid amount must accompany each bid. The successful bidder will be required to provide both a Performance and Payment Bond, each in the amount of one hundred percent of the contract amount. Bidders must be experienced in the construction of the type of facilities to be built under the contract(s) for which a bid is submitted. Bidders and their subcontractors shall be INDOT prequalified to perform the work specified in the contract documents. Materials shall be supplied by an INDOT certified manufacturer. Contractors entering into a contract with the City of Whiting are required to enroll in and verify the work eligibility status of all of their newly hired employees through the E-Verify program. Certain Indiana Codes regarding contractor qualifications, discrimination, requirements for public works projects, and prohibited investment activities apply to this project and contract. The City of Whiting reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding, should the City deem it to be in the public interest to do so.
