Site work for a water / sewer project in Arlington, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The scope of work includes a Base Bid for construction of the low service water main, and Bid Alternate 1 for construction of the high service water main. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive, eligible and responsible bidder based on the Base Bid or Base Bid and Bid Alternate 1 at the Owner’s discretion and based on availability of funds. The Base Bid includes installation of approximately 2,890 linear feet of 6”, 8”, 10” and 12” DI pipe, and Bid Alternate 1 which includes approximately 470 LF of 8” DI pipe, and cleaning and cement mortar lining of approximately 700 LF of existing 8” cast iron water main. The program includes installation of new valves, fittings; hydrants; water services; and removal and disposal of existing hydrants, valves, appurtenances, and water mains where in proposed trench limits. Surface construction includes temporary and permanent trench pavement; concrete sidewalk panel reconstruction; removal and resetting of granite curb; protection of existing utility poles; and tree protection, branch trimming, and root treatment. The scope of work also includes construction zone safety and traffic management; handling and disposal of excavated materials in accordance with regulations; and coordination of work. The required contract completion date for the contract is November 30, 2026.
