Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Riverside, California. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.
Removal and replacement of existing rod iron fencing, including but not limited to fence and post demolition, concrete footing installation, installation of 6-foot-high vinyl-coated chain link fencing, replacement of three 10x20 double-gated sally port entries and one double-gate maintenance access, and final site restoration, all in accordance with the plans and specifications. Demolition and Removal - 1,250 LF a. Remove approximately 1,250 linear feet of existing rod iron fencing, including posts, footings, and hardware. b. Materials shall be disposed of offsite in accordance with applicable regulations. B. Concrete Footing Installation a. Install new concrete footings for line, corner, terminal, and gate posts in accordance with project specifications. C. Fencing Installation - 1,250 LF a. Install 6-foot-high vinyl-coated green chain link fencing along the perimeter of the dog park in accordance with ASTM F567 for zinc-coated steel chain-link fabric. b. Posts, rails, and framework shall conform to ASTM F1043, and fittings, tension bands, and ties shall conform to ASTM F567. c. Install fencing plumb, level, and aligned with existing dog park layout. d. Set posts in concrete footings and allow sufficient curing time prior to tensioning fabric. e. Install chain link fabric taut, free of sagging, and securely fastened to framework. f. Install top rail continuously between terminal posts. g. Install bottom tension wire and properly tension. D. Sally Port and Gate Installation - 3 Entries + 1 Maintenance Gate a. Replace three 10x20 double-gated sally port entries and one double-gate maintenance access with new self-closing, self-latching gates in accordance with project specifications. b. Gate hardware, hinges, and fittings shall conform to ASTM F567 for strength and corrosion resistance. c. Install sally port enclosures to maintain a fully enclosed transition space between gates. d. Verify proper gate swing, self-closing action, and latching prior to acceptance. e. Gates shall not bind, drag, or interfere with adjacent fencing. E. Site Restoration a. Perform site cleanup, restore all disturbed landscaping, turf, or surfacing to original condition, and remove all construction debris. b. Remove excess materials, debris, and equipment from site upon completion. 2. FENCING SPECIFICATIONS A. Chain Link Fabric a. Fabric: i. 9-gauge steel wire, vinyl-coated after galvanizing ii. 2-inch diamond mesh iii. Color: Green (standard manufacturer color) iv. Height: 6 feet b. Framework and Posts i. Steel pipe, hot-dip galvanized and vinyl-coated green ii. Line Posts 1. Minimum 2-3/8 inch OD iii. Spacing: Maximum 10 feet on center iv. Terminal, Corner, and Gate Posts 1. Minimum 2-7/8 inch OD v. Top Rail: 1. Minimum 1-5/8 inch OD, continuous vi. Bottom Tension Wire: 1. 7-gauge galvanized wire, vinyl-coated green B. Gates a. Sally Port Entry Gates: i. Provide three (3) double-gated sally port enclosures, each approximately 10 feet by 20 feet ii. Each sally port shall include: 1. Two opposing double-swing gates 2. Minimum 4-foot clear opening per gate leaf 3. Self-closing, self-latching hardware 4. Gates shall be designed so only one gate may be opened at a time b. Maintenance Access Gate: i. Provide one (1) double-swing gate, minimum 10 feet clear opening 1. Lockable with padlock hasp a. Gate Frames: i. Welded steel construction ii. Vinyl-coated green to match fencing b. Hardware: i. Heavy-duty galvanized and vinyl-coated hinges, latches, and fittings ii. Latches located 42 inches above finish grade, unless otherwise directed C. Concrete Footings a. Concrete: i. Minimum 3,000 psi compressive strength at 28 days b. Post Footings: i. Line posts: Minimum 12-inch diameter x 36-inch depth ii. Terminal and gate posts: Minimum 18-inch diameter x 42-inch depth
