Sealed bids are requested from General Contractors for construction work including: fire alarm system replacement at Stevens Creek Elementary School and Blue Ridge Elementary School, and carbon monoxide and fuel gas leak detector upgrades at Lakeside Middle School and Riverside Middle School. The system for fire alarms must be as manufactured by "Notifier" (no equals). The project must be completed within the summer break timeframe, with commencement on May 22nd and completion by July 27th. Bidders must verify they can complete the project within these dates. The contract, if awarded, will be on a lump sum basis. No bid may be withdrawn for 35 days after opening. Bids must be accompanied by a bid bond of at least 5% of the base bid. Both performance and payment bonds are required for 100% of the contract price, executed by a surety company licensed in Georgia and listed in the Department of the Treasury Circular 570, with a minimum A. M. Best Company rating of "A" and financial size of "VII 7" or better. Bonds must be submitted with verification letters and Power of Attorney for the Attorney-in-Fact. Contractors must submit a completed Statement of Bidders Qualifications Form with the bid. The successful bidder must also submit, within five days of request, a properly executed AIA Document A-305 with a current audited or reviewed financial statement (less than one year old).
