Site work for a transportation facility in Douglas, Georgia. Completed plans call for site work for a transportation facility.
The project involves mitigating existing drainage issues at Douglas Municipal Airport. The scope includes regrading throughout the airfield, and replacement of drainage structures and pipes. Construction elements will include phasing, demolition, grading and drainage, and erosion control. Bidders are instructed to inform themselves concerning Georgia Laws and comply with them. If awarded, the contractor will be allowed forty-five (45) consecutive calendar days from the Notice to Proceed for construction to reach substantial completion. Each bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond of five percent (5%) of the total amount payable by the contract or equivalent in certified check, cashier's check, or cash. The successful bidder must provide performance and payment bonds as required by the Contract Documents. Surety and insurance companies must have an AM Best rating of A-6 or greater, be listed in the Federal Registry of Companies holding Certificates of Authority and Acceptable Sureties on Federal Bonds, and be licensed in Georgia. Bids must remain subject to acceptance for 90 days after opening. Bids should be placed in a sealed envelope addressed to the owner, and if mailed or delivered, enclosed in another envelope marked "BID ENCLOSED for Airport Drainage Improvements" on the face. The City of Douglas reserves the right to waive informality or irregularities in the bids, reject any or all bids, or to award or refrain from awarding the contract as deemed in the Owner's best interests. Mandatory federal requirements apply, including but not limited to: Davis Bacon Act, Affirmative Action, Copeland Act, Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards, Title VI of Civil Rights Act, Debarment and Suspension, Buy American Preferences, Foreign Trade Restriction, Minority and Female Participation goals, Nonsegregated Facilities certification, and required performance and payment bonds.
