The work generally consists of pavement removal, subgrade and granular subbase preparation, PCC pavement, pavement markings, site restoration, and traffic control for the North General Aviation Apron Taxilane Relocation at Des Moines International Airport, Contract No. 2026-06-20. Each bidder must submit bid security in the amount of ten percent of the bid, which may be a cashier's check, certified check, certified share draft, or a bid bond with satisfactory surety. The successful bidder will be required to furnish performance and payment bonds in an amount equal to one hundred percent of the contract price. These bonds must guarantee faithful performance of the contract, prompt payment for materials and labor, and the maintenance of the work for two years after acceptance. All proposals will be evaluated, and the award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, though the Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids or waive informalities. Bidders must submit a completed Bidder Status Form. Sales tax should not be included, as a sales tax exemption certificate will be provided. Preference will be given to Iowa products and provisions, and resident bidders will be given preference against nonresident bidders as dictated by Iowa statutes. Disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded a full and fair opportunity to submit bids and will not be discriminated against based on race, color, or national origin. The work shall be performed within the security fence of the airport to the east of Building 70. Building 70 is located at 2710 McKinley Ave. Des Moines, Iowa. The Engineer's opinion of probable construction cost for the Work is between $808,000 and $895,000. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
