Renovation of a military facility in Boulder, Colorado. Completed plans call for the renovation of a military facility.
Removal and replacement of two existing stair assemblies located in the lower-level mechanical room of Building 2 at the NIST Boulder Campus. Work includes demolition and legal disposal of one existing 5-riser wooden staircase and one existing 9-riser wooden staircase, followed by fabrication and installation of new galvanized steel stair assemblies. Due to restricted access within the mechanical room, the new stair systems must be field-fabricated and installed in place, including required on-site welding. The new assemblies shall include slip-resistant industrial treads and code-compliant handrails and guardrails and shall be securely anchored to the existing structure. The contractor shall coordinate work with existing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems; protect adjacent surfaces; perform complete cleanup and debris removal; and comply with applicable building codes, OSHA requirements, and NIST safety and security standards. Location: National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Boulder Campus, Building 2, 325 Broadway, Boulder, CO 80305. The contractor shall begin performance within 10 calendar days and complete it within 120 calendar days. Any questions related to this solicitation must be received by the POC listed in Block 9 of the SF 1442 no later than 3:00 PM MT / 8 May 2026.
