Eligibility: Open to contractors who meet minimum qualifications and are available for work in Vermont. The project requires licensed structural engineers or firms to provide a comprehensive structural inspection of the Town Highway Garage, a 1.5-story, 3,200 sq. ft wood-framed building built in 1973 and located at 17 Academy Drive, Sharon, VT. The building is used for equipment storage, vehicle maintenance, and year-round operations. The contractor is to assess the building’s structural integrity and provide recommendations and associated costs. Scope of Work: The contractor will perform all services specified in Attachment A. Submissions may suggest additional or alternative services for a more efficient or comprehensive assessment. Terms and conditions will be defined in a formal contract (sample provided in Attachment B). General Information: The Town reserves rights to accept or reject any bids, cancel or postpone the project, and retain all submitted bids. Responsive bids must state a price. Incremental or partial payments may be made, with final payment dependent on satisfactory completion and Town approval. There is no obligation for the Town to reimburse any proposal preparation expenses. Qualified disadvantaged and women-owned businesses are encouraged to submit proposals. Submission Instructions: Bids may be submitted by mail, in person, or electronically in PDF format. Email submissions must include a specific subject line. Mailed or hand-delivered bids must be sealed and clearly marked. Additional materials to clarify or supplement the bid may be included. Any bid may be withdrawn in writing before the scheduled opening. Late bids will not be considered and will be returned unopened. Bidders must certify that bids are made in good faith, without fraud, collusion, or connection with other bidders.
