Valley Ave Water System Improvements The work includes improvements to the existing water system for the City, specifically the installation of 12-inch water main and casings, abandonment of existing small-diameter water main, relocation and reconnection of existing water meters and services, and the removal and replacement of three fire hydrant assemblies. Additional work involves improvements to the existing stormwater system and construction of two ADA-compliant curb ramps. The contractor is allotted forty working days to complete the work in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, with work to commence within ten calendar days after contract execution and issuance of a notice to proceed. Instructions to bidders specify that sealed bids must be submitted to the Permit Center counter on the second floor of City Hall by the specified deadline, with a staff member present to receive bids during designated hours. All bids must include a bid proposal deposit of at least five percent of the proposal price in the form of a certified or cashier's check or approved bond. The City reserves the right to waive informalities, accept or reject bids, republish the call for bids, revise or cancel the scope of work, or require alternate methods of completing the work. The successful bidder must comply with Davis-Bacon wage requirements and ensure fair opportunity for disadvantaged business enterprises. Plans, specifications, and addenda are available online, and vendor registration is required to access them. It is the bidder's responsibility to check for addenda and new documents online. The Engineer's estimate range for this project is between $600,000 and $700,000.
