Renovation of a municipal facility in Effingham, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a two-story above grade municipal facility.
Sealed bids are invited for the services of a qualified company to replace the rolled rubber roof on the 1 and 2-story sections of the Effingham County Office Building located at 101 N. Fourth Street, Effingham, IL. Attendance at a mandatory pre-bid/site visit meeting by a representative from each contractor wishing to submit a proposal is required. The meeting will take place at the building's third floor meeting room. Proposals must be submitted to the Effingham County Board office. The County Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Specifications are available on the Effingham County website. The general scope of work for this project will include: Cutting, removing, and disposing of the existing rubber membrane and insulation over the metal/concrete deck. Installing 1/8" per foot tapered polyiso insulation with crickets to provide positive drainage to the existing drains. Starting thickness on metal deck to be determined at pre-bid meeting. Fully adhere a 60 mil externally reinforced White EPDM roofing membrane up and over all parapet walls and install metal coping cap. All protrusions must be flashed according to manufacturer's specifications. Removal of out of service cooling tower foundations. Temporary removal and re-installation of, or work around solution, for two air conditioning units. Replacement of four skylights on 1-story section. Clean and dispose of all waste and debris generated by the project Provide a minimum 20-year NDL (No Dollar Limit) warranty. Purchase and provide for delivery of all materials necessary for the project. Provide all labor, material, equipment, and supervision required to complete the scope of work in accordance with the contract documents and industry standards. Provide a date for construction to begin, and estimate of time to completion when submitting this RFP This RFP should include ALL COSTS to provide the above listed work. The project is comprised of two sections of roof: _ a two-story section (approximately 2,200 square feet in area) _ a one-story section (approximately 7,400 square feet in area) All sections must have the existing roofing materials and components removed. The rubber roof membrane, insulation, fasteners, edging and flashing must be replaced and installed according to manufacturer's specifications. This project is considered to be turn-key, and includes the removal and disposal of used equipment, packaging, roofing and construction material. The intent of the RFP is to award a contract for service to the successful Respondents. As part of the Work, the Contractor shall furnish and assume full responsibility for everything required for the orderly progress, proper execution and completion of the work, whether temporary or permanent and whether or not incorporated into the work including, but not limited to, drawings, materials, equipment, labor (including subcontractors), transportation, construction equipment and machinery, tools, and other facilities and incidentals. If work is required to be "done by others", it must be clearly defined in the offer. The expense of work "done by others" will be considered in the award of bid. Contractor shall not have any public or private interest and shall not acquire directly or indirectly any such interest which conflicts in any manner with the performance of its services under this Contract. Contractor shall employ only persons duly licensed and qualified to perform the work required under this Contract. The County provides no guarantee of work. Award of a contract does not prevent the County from obtaining the services of another Contractor for any other project if the County so desires and/or is in the public interest to do so.
