High School Carpet RFP - Flooring Furnish all necessary labor, tools, adhesives, and edging to install a complete carpet installation. The areas to be carpeted are specified; the contractor shall carefully measure and verify all areas. No request for installation extras will be considered due to errors by the installation contractor. The contractor is responsible for preparing the floor by filling in all minor holes or cracks, ensuring substrata are smooth, and discussing any major floor irregularities with the school before work begins. The contractor is responsible for the removal and disposal of existing flooring and adhesive. Installers must be Mohawk Certified and provide proof, comply with manufacturer's instructions, and install edge reducers where necessary. Use only adhesives/sealers specified by the carpet manufacturer. Furnish and install new first-run carpeting from the same dye lot as specified (no substitutions allowed). Remove and replace all existing base with new rubber base after carpet installation. Remove all scraps and rubbish after completion. Guarantee all workmanship and materials against defects for one year, and manufacturer guarantees carpeting in writing against wear for fifteen years. The contractor is responsible for any damage to the building. Furnish excess carpet of at least 1% of the bid quantity. Contractor is to invoice the district after work completion. Fill in the attached bid form completely. The bid award will not be split between bidders. Instructions to bidders include: Sealed bids must be received by the specified deadline, marked appropriately, and addressed to the stipulated address. Bids must comply with the listed specifications. Provide two references for similar school projects with full contact details. The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any irregularities, and to make the award in the district's best interest.
