This solicitation is for the acceptance, processing, and ultimate disposal of municipally collected solid waste in the City of Springfield. The work under this contract includes acceptance, processing, and disposal of solid waste in accordance with the requirements of the State of Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection. Services are preferred to include transfer and transportation from a site in or near Springfield, MA. The City collects solid waste from approximately 41,000 residential properties (3-family or less), with a total volume of about 45,000 tons per year. Larger homes, apartments, and private condominiums are excluded from this contract. Pricing is requested for acceptance, processing, and ultimate disposal of residential solid waste at a transfer or processing facility located within the City of Springfield or within 10 road miles of City limits. The City supports a goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so. No questions will be answered unless received at least 7 days prior to the expiration of the time set for submitting bids or proposals.
