The project is for the construction of approximately 2,010 linear feet of eight-inch polyvinyl chloride (PVC) water line from the existing pressure-reducing valve (PRV) vault at Cherry St. and HWY 109 to a new PRV vault at Main St./HWY 197. This includes approximately 410 linear feet of casing, a new PRV and vault, associated valves and fittings, two fire hydrants, and other appurtenances as shown or called for in the plans and specifications. All bids shall be sealed and plainly marked on the outside of the envelope specifying that it is a bid for construction of the water system improvements, the time for opening of bids, and the name and current contractor's license number of the bidder. Contractors are required to inspect and study the site to familiarize themselves with all conditions to be encountered. Failure to register as a plan holder may result in bid rejection. Bid security must be furnished in accordance with the instructions to bidders. All bidders must be licensed under the Arkansas State Licensing Law for Contractors and comply with the relevant rules and regulations. The owner encourages qualified small business and veteran-owned enterprises to bid. The City of Scranton reserves the right to accept any bid deemed most advantageous, to reject any or all bids, and to hold bids for up to thirty days for consideration.
