The work includes acquiring and delivering the materials required for the construction of a new lift station and the rehabilitation of an existing lift station along with related appurtenances for the City. All bidders must comply with federal requirements prohibiting discrimination, observe minimum wage rates, and comply with all listed acts and executive orders. Bidders must meet the Contractor’s Licensing Law of the State of Alabama and submit proof of similar projects completed within the last 5 years with comparable scope and cost. Nonresident bidders must include evidence of a current Alabama General Contractor’s License, proper registration as a foreign corporation, and a Certificate of Good Standing. Each bid must include a bid security of at least 5% of the bid amount, and the successful bidder must submit 100% performance and payment bonds or an irrevocable letter of credit. Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope with required identifying information. Participation of women and minority owned businesses and Section 3 qualified contractors is encouraged.
