SEALED PROPOSALS will be received only from previously pre-qualified General Contractors by Oxford City Schools for OXFORD CREATE PHASE II. A cashiers check or bid bond payable to Oxford City Schools in an amount not less than five percent of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000, must accompany the bidder's proposal. Performance and statutory Labor and Material Payment Bonds, and insurance in compliance with requirements, will be required at the signing of the Contract. Drawings and Specifications may be examined at the Office of the Architect. Bid documents will be sent to General Contractors only from the Architect electronically with no deposit. Subcontractors should contact a General Contractor or plan room for documents. Only General Contractors who are properly licensed in accordance with criteria established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors under the Provision of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, as amended, will be considered for the Work of this project. Any and all plan holders intending to submit a bid on the project must submit a written registration with the Architect prior to bid. Bidder registrations may be emailed to Goodwyn Mills and Cawood. Bids will not be accepted from unregistered bidders. It is the sole responsibility of the Bidder to confirm with the Office of the Architect receipt of registration. The project will be bid excluding taxes and will require the Contractor to complete the specified sales tax forms to be submitted with the proposal. If awarded, both tax exempt entity and contractor shall apply for certificates of exemption. The project requires compliance with federal and state nondiscrimination, wage, and labor laws, and may require compliance with Buy America Preference requirements if applicable. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals or to waive technical errors if it serves the Owner's interest. Pre-qualification requirements: Only previously pre-qualified General Contractors properly licensed in accordance with criteria established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors under the Provision of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, as amended, will be considered.
