Site work for an educational facility in Mason City, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a educational facility.
Bidders shall carefully examine the bidding documents and visit the construction sites to obtain first-hand knowledge of existing conditions. Requests for extra payments will not be allowed for conditions that could have been determined by examining bidding documents as it may pertain to their work under other contracts. Construction of the project may begin upon submission of the Certificate of Insurance, Performance Bond, and Labor and Materials Bond. Work shall be substantially completed by June 30, 2026. All areas must be fully completed, cleaned of debris, and open to vehicular and pedestrian traffic. The General Contractor may be required to secure an all-risk insurance policy for this project scope unless stated otherwise. A list of major subcontractors to be used on the project must be provided within 48 hours of the bid for the owner's review and approval. The Contractor shall submit Applications for Payment to the Architect by the last day of each month. The General Contractor is responsible for obtaining storm water permits and filing a Storm Water Prevention Plan with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources if one or more acres are disturbed. Owners will issue sales tax exemption certificates to contractors and subcontractors associated with the project. The General Contractor shall obtain and pay for the building permit from the City of Mason City. The General Contractor's full-time jobsite Superintendent shall have a minimum of five years on-site experience supervising projects of similar size and construction type and shall remain on-site for the duration of the project for continuity of knowledge and coordination until project closeout. On April 16, 2026, at 6:00 pm in the Administrative Building Board room at 500 College Drive., Mason City, Iowa, 50401 a public hearing will be held on the proposed plans, specifications and proposed form of Contract for the "North Iowa Area Community College: Utility Project", Mason City, Iowa", and at said hearing, any interested person may appear and file objections thereto or to the cost of said improvement. Question Deadline 04/03/2026 Bidders and Sub-bidders requiring clarification or interpretation of the Bidding Documents shall make a written request which shall reach the Architect at least four (4) days prior to the date for receipt of Bids.
