**As of May 29th, 2026, the project was awarded to Eastern Iowa Excavating & Concrete, LLC with an awarded amount of $432,260.78** The work generally consists of sidewalk infill, driveway reconstruction, intersection reconstruction, and grading activities located along Blairs Ferry Road NE, from North Towne Place to Sammi Drive. Bids are to be on a Unit Price basis. Each bidder must accompany their bid with bid security in the amount of five percent of the bid, in the form specified. The successful bidder will enter into a contract for the work and furnish a corporate surety bond for the faithful performance of the contract equal to one hundred percent of the amount of the contract. All contractors and subcontractors must have in place a drug and alcohol testing policy that conforms to the requirements of Iowa Code and must submit an acknowledgement attesting to this practice with their bid. Preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the State of Iowa, and to Iowa domestic labor as lawfully required. The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive informalities and technicalities, and defer acceptance of any proposal for 60 calendar days after bids have been received and opened. No sales and use taxes should be included in the bid, as items included in the project are exempt from these taxes.
