The work consists of the construction of a single-lane roundabout, including demolition and removal of 4,500 square yards of existing asphalt pavement, construction of 4,400 square yards of asphalt pavement over 3,100 tons of stone subbase, construction of concrete splitter islands and truck apron, placement of 3,600 linear feet of concrete curbing, drainage structures and swales, and installation of pavement markings and signs. Bid proposals must be submitted as sealed bids and received at the designated location by the specified time. Bids delivered by facsimile or electronic mail are not accepted. Bids must remain valid for 60 days after the submission deadline, during which the City may retain any or all bids. The City reserves the right to waive informalities, to award the contract to any bidder to the City's advantage, or to reject all bids. Each bid must be accompanied by bid security equal to five percent of the total price, provided as an acceptable cashier's or certified check, bid bond from a qualified surety company, or cash. A Performance Bond and Payment Bond, each for 100 percent of the contract price, are required from the selected contractor. Bidders must hold a Public Works Contractor License for the State of Idaho.
