Demolition and renovation of an educational facility in Mobile, Alabama. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 22,826-square-foot, one-story above grade educational facility.
Alterations to the Bedsole Building at 1255-B Dauphin Street, on the campus of the Alabama School of Math and Science. The project affects the first-floor entrance and lobby of the Bedsole Building. Work includes, but is not limited to, demolition, door replacement, window replacement, new interior storefront, new millwork with complete finishes, including mechanical and electrical work as shown in the Construction Documents. Each bid must be accompanied by a cashier's check drawn on an Alabama bank or a bid bond by a surety company authorized in Alabama, payable to the Alabama School of Math and Science, in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the bid, but not to exceed $10,000. Bidders must have a proper Alabama General Contractor's License, with the license number and classification included on the bid form. Nonresident bidders must provide evidence of reciprocity with their state of residence. The successful bidder must provide Performance and Payment Bonds in the full contract amount, and certificates of insurance meeting Project Manual requirements at contract execution. Additional bid requirements and bid submission rules are included in the Project Manual. Only bidders obtaining plans from the Architect are included on the official plan holders list and will receive addenda. Bids must be submitted on forms provided in the Project Manual. The Owner reserves the right to reject bids, waive informalities, and award the contract to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder. No bid may be withdrawn for 30 days after the bid date. The project includes alterations to the Bedsole building on campus as indicated in the Contract Documents.
