Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) intends to undertake redevelopment and equipment replacement work on an existing high capacity groundwater well (Well 84-3) at the Kitimat River Hatchery, located in Kitimat, British Columbia. The well supplies groundwater to critical aquaculture operations and is located adjacent to the Kitimat River in a confined sand and gravel aquifer. The work is technically specialized and will require contractors with demonstrated experience in groundwater well redevelopment, submersible pump installation, and confined space well work. This is the first phase (Phase 1) of a two-phase competition: the first phase will evaluate the qualifications of all bidders; the second phase (Phase 2) will invite the qualified bidders to provide a financial bid on the project based on the specifications and drawings. Upon award of contract in Phase Two the pre-qualification list will be terminated, no additional contracts will be awarded. The estimated contract period will be 3 month(s), with a proposed start date of 2026/07/01.
