Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Martinez, California. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and road / highway.
The work consists of installing ADA compliant curb ramps at multiple locations and cold planing and placing a hot mix asphalt (HMA) overlay on various roads in the unincorporated Crockett and Port Costa areas. The work will also include tree trimming, removing existing curb and sidewalk, setting survey monuments, and placing thermoplastic striping and pavement markings. Bids must cover the entire project; neither partial nor contingent bids will be considered. The successful bidder must furnish a payment bond and a performance bond. Bidders are required to subcontract a minimum of 25% of the bid. The Contractor must possess a valid Class A or Class C-12 License at the time the Contract is awarded. All contractors and subcontractors must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations and qualified to perform public work. The contract is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. The prevailing wage rate applies. For projects where the contract amount equals or exceeds $1,000,000, the successful bidder must negotiate and sign a project labor agreement with the Contra Costa Building and Construction Trades Council, and all subcontractors must also sign the agreement. Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Opportunity requirements apply. Securities may be substituted for monies withheld by the County to ensure performance. The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids or any portion thereof and/or waive any irregularity in any bid received.
