The Board of County Commissioners of Elkhart County, Indiana, will receive bids for the 2026 Wedging Program. Bidders are responsible for timely delivery of bids to the Office of the Elkhart County Commissioners. Plans, specifications, and bidding documents are available from the Elkhart County Highway Department. Proposals must be properly and completely executed on county-furnished forms in accordance with Revised Indiana Form 96, accompanied by the contractor's financial statement, an itemized proposal of quantities and components of labor and materials, and a non-collusion affidavit. Proposals must be submitted using the standard bid sheets, which must be signed and be the first page of the submittal. Bids must be enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing the project title and the name and address of the bidder. Only bidders who are pre-qualified by the Indiana Department of Transportation will be accepted, and proof of pre-qualification must accompany the bid. A satisfactory bid bond (10% of bid) is required. All work may begin on May 11, 2026, and must be completed by July 10, 2026, with liquidated damages of $1,000 per day per item for delays. The Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. Scope of Work: Contractor is required to pave over horseshoe damage on selected roads, leveling trough to compatible profile of existing road. Typical width of damage is 24 inches. Paver should be set at 72 +/- inches typical width, with zero elevation on either side of the trough, paving consistently 72 +/- inches full length of road
