Site work for a bridge / tunnel in Winhall, Vermont. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.
The project involves the replacement and installation of one existing culvert on Kendall Farm Road in the Town of Winhall, Vermont. The existing 36" x 32' culvert is to be replaced with a 60" x 40' grey plastic culvert, embedded at least 12" below the streambed. The contractor is responsible for compaction in 12" lifts with the last 24" being crushed gravel, and for installing rip rap at the inlet and outlet with stone headers to retain the bank, followed by seeding and mulching. All necessary State and Federal permitting will be managed by the contractor in collaboration with the Town. The road may be closed for one day, with a 14-day prior warning required. The contractor is also responsible for traffic control and signage. Submissions must include an expression of interest, a specific approach to the project, relevant experience and documentation, proposed fee structure, timeline, and traffic control/signage plans. Multiple contracts may be awarded, and work begins once contracts are executed and performance bonds received. All permits must be secured before work begins.
