The project will include, but is not necessarily limited to, the installation of approximately 14,000 linear feet of 30-inch ductile iron pipe sewer force main and 2,400 linear feet of 24-inch diameter PVC gravity sewer and all other items necessary for a complete and functioning system. Bids must be submitted in sealed envelopes with the completed Contractor's Bid Envelope Form. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond equal to five percent (5%) of the amount bid, as a guarantee that a contract will be entered into and the performance secured by an approved performance bond if the bid is accepted. The successful bidder will be required to furnish Performance and Payment Bonds, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, from surety companies authorized to transact business in the State of Tennessee. Bids may be held for up to ninety (90) days for review and qualification purposes, and no bid may be withdrawn within this period. The project is to be substantially completed within 450 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed, with final completion 30 days thereafter. Liquidated damages for delay are specified at $500.00 per calendar day. The City reserves the right to waive informalities or reject any or all bids and will not discriminate based on race, sex, religion, color, national or ethnic origin, age, disability, or military service.
