Recommended award for this project is, Tomar Construction LLC for $5,247,000 The project is for the construction of a public water system filter building with two new granular activated carbon contactor trains and relocation of one existing contactor train (4 new vessels and 2 existing vessels for 6 vessels in total) at an existing water treatment facility. The work includes the demolition of a decommissioned water treatment facility and construction of a new pre-engineered metal building (approximately 100 feet by 50 feet), helical pier foundation, grade beams, floor slab, heating and ventilation, electrical, plumbing, piping, site restoration, grading, paving, and associated supporting construction. Improvements and modifications at the existing water treatment facility to accommodate the new filter process are also included. Bidders must have active Federal System for Award Management (SAM) registration. The project is subject to USDA Rural Development and U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) requirements, including the use of specific forms and compliance with grant program requirements regarding employment goals for minorities and women, and the American Iron and Steel requirement for domestic production.
