The project consists of curb, sidewalk and driveway apron replacement where required, ADA ramps, roadway base repair where required, and milling, paving and striping. All work on this contract must be completed within 90 calendar days from issuance of a Notice to Proceed. Proposals must be made on the standard proposal forms included with the Contract Documents, enclosed in sealed envelopes bearing the name and address of the bidder and the name of the project on the outside, and be accompanied by a statement of consent of surety and either a bid bond or a certified check drawn to the order of Borough of Metuchen for not less than ten percent (10%) of the amount bid, except that the check shall not exceed $20,000.00. A performance bond and labor and material (payment) bond for the full amount of the project is required. Proposals will only be accepted from bidders who have properly qualified in accordance with the requirements of the Contract Documents. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities where such informality is not detrimental to the best interest of the Owner, and the Owner reserves the right to abandon the project and reject the bids entirely under certain circumstances. The successful bidder must comply with all applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, including affirmative action requirements and public disclosure provisions. Such request shall be in writing, addressed to the Owners representative stipulated in the specification.
