Site work and new construction of a municipal facility in Kirkwood, Missouri. Working plans call for the construction of a municipal facility.
The City of Kirkwood is requesting sealed proposals for Construction Materials Testing and Special Inspection Services for the New Public Works Building for the City's Engineering Department. Sealed proposals must be submitted electronically and comply with the terms and conditions outlined. No faxed, hand delivered, mailed, or emailed responses will be accepted. Suppliers are instructed not to contact City personnel regarding this proposal except as specified, or their proposal may be dismissed. General information and instructions to respondents are provided within the specifications. The City of Kirkwood will be repurposing a former moving and storage facility at 545 Leffingwell Ave 63122 into a new Public Works Facility. The project is a 9 acre +/-site. It consists of existing site improvements & utilities and an existing 67,800 SF warehouse with an adjoining three story 5,200 SF per floor office building on the east face. Only two floors of the office building are currently built out. The 3 rd floor will remain for future use space. There is also an existing 3,300 SF 1 story out-building to be repurposed as well Work in the warehouse will include primarily nonstructural demolition and some new wall openings. Most lighting in the warehouse and office to remain with focused upgrades, new trench drains and new mechanical systems. Build out of new offices, break area and locker rooms and chain link fencing dividers. New lighting in the newly built-out areas. Electrical system upgrades with respect to distribution. Work in the three-story office building will be minimal architectural changes to accommodate new office uses. The existing office building areas mechanical systems are to remain. Most lighting will remain with some minor additions. Finishes in office area will mostly remain. Half of the outbuilding will be converted to a drive through wash bay and the other half to be a large storage area. Site work will consist of an outdoor recycling area concrete pad, salt dome and material bins. Preliminary project schedule is for construction to start June 2026 with a max duration of 12 months.
