The City of Richmond, VA, on behalf of the Department of Public Utilities, seeks bids from qualified firms for general contracting services for the Wastewater Treatment Plant Biosolids and Grit Storage Pad Upgrade project. The work will involve demolition of existing systems and sewer lines, construction of new systems and lines, and installation of electrical service, among other related tasks. The project aims to ensure proper containment from the wastewater treatment process, maintain Class B status of processed solids, and keep the biosolids dry and free from rainfall through the construction of a structural canopy. The biosolids will be placed on the pad as dry matter, and the upgrades are necessary to prevent solids from obstructing plant piping and to facilitate hauling and disposal at approved facilities.
