Provide Fire Damper Inspection and Testing services for the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center, including locating and operating all fire, smoke, and combination fire/smoke dampers to verify full closure. Work includes removing and resetting fusible links; replacing any compromised fusible links in accordance with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes; lubricating moving parts; clearing debris that could impede normal operation; and coordinating with the Contracting Officer's Representative to place the fire alarm system in test mode when required. Services also include manual activation of electric and pneumatic actuators to verify proper damper operation, notification to the VA when access to dampers does not exist, and installation of properly sized access doors as necessary to facilitate inspection. The contractor shall document before-and-after conditions with digital photographs; maintain and use VA-provided damper ID numbers in all records and software systems; mark damper locations on facility drawings; affix identification stickers indicating testing date, pass status, location, and damper ID; and decommission eligible dampers in accordance with applicable NFPA codes, documenting the code and section authorizing decommissioning and affixing appropriate identification stickers.
