Description: Milwaukee County has issued a request for proposals seeking a private development partner to redevelop the former Medical Examiner’s Office site at 933 W. Highland Ave. in downtown Milwaukee. The 1.07-acre county-owned parcel includes an approximately 58,000-square-foot building constructed in 1931, which has long housed county operations and will be vacated as the Medical Examiner relocates. The county is pursuing redevelopment of the site to unlock new economic and urban development opportunities in the downtown area, with final scope, demolition, and new construction to be determined through the RFP process. As of April 15, 2026, proposals are due on May 26th. Information regarding a timeline for construction has not yet been established.
