The Contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, equipment, materials, transportation, and disposal necessary to perform annual vegetation management and fuel hazard reduction services on City-owned open space parcels in accordance with Fire Department standards and inspection requirements. All assigned work must be completed within the annual treatment window unless otherwise authorized by the Fire Department. Work is assigned based on an award structure and to parcels identified in aerial maps. Proposers must assess site conditions and include all means and methods in pricing, as no further representations of quantities, access, or conditions are made. The City may add or remove parcels during the contract and will negotiate adjustments based on the contractor’s parcel-level cost breakdown. Vegetation must be reduced and cleared according to standards such as grass cut to three inches, native brush to six inches, clearing within 100 feet of structures, vertical and horizontal trimming of trees, removal of dead material, inspection of Heritage Trees by a licensed arborist before trimming, and maintenance of access roads and fire hydrant clearance, with the Fire Department reserving the right to add further requirements.
