Question Deadline: 4:00 p.m. on April 20, 2026. The Project includes furnishing all necessary labor, materials, equipment, and other incidental and appurtenant work necessary to satisfactorily complete the project, as described in the contract documents. The work is to be performed in strict conformance with the contract documents, permits from regulatory agencies with jurisdiction, and applicable regulations. The quantity of work to be performed and materials to be furnished are approximations only and may vary at the discretion of the City Engineer. Work includes roadway slurry seal, including traffic control, crack sealing, weed abatement, type II latex slurry seal, removal and reconstruction of failed AC pavement, and installation of pavement striping and markings in the City of La Mirada. Bids must be submitted on the provided forms without unauthorized changes. Each bidder shall possess a valid Class A, General, or C-12 Earthwork and Paving Contractors license at the time of bid submission, and the successful contractor must also possess a current City business license. A bid security of not less than ten percent (10%) of the total bid is required. Performance and payment bonds, each equal to the contract price, must be provided upon contract award. Five percent (5%) of progress payments will be withheld as retention, with the option for substitution as provided by law. Prevailing wage laws apply. The city reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive irregularities or informalities. The time for completion is 40 working days, with liquidated damages of $800 per day for delay. Requests to substitute "or equal" items must be submitted at least ten calendar days before the bid deadline.
