Site work for a water / sewer project in Elm City, North Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
Exercise, evaluate, and document the operability of approximately 150 existing water valves. Install approximately 36 insertion valves to create isolation zones. Replace or install approximately 120 various diameter valves as determined by evaluation and after establishment of isolation zones. Replace approximately 25 existing hydrants aged over 40 years. Install approximately 600 linear feet of 6-inch diameter C900 pipe along Railroad Street. Abandon in place the existing 2-inch pipe along Railroad Street. Reinstate or replace existing services along Railroad Street. Perform associated pavement removal and replacement as required for various construction activities. Bidders must show evidence of a current license number on the outside of the sealed envelope. Bidders must comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Anti-Kickback Act, and Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act. Adherence to efforts for the inclusion of Small and Minority/Women-Owned Business and Historically Underutilized Businesses is required. No bid may be withdrawn within 30 days after the opening date. The right to waive informalities or reject any or all bids is reserved.
