The Work included in this Contract generally consists of the Construction of a new 8-inch water main in North Church Street from the intersection of Fonville Street and North Church Street to the intersection of North Church Street and U.S. Highway 80 in Tuskegee, Alabama to include approximately 3,200 linear feet of new 8-inch PVC C900 water main, appurtenances, connections to the existing system, 30 water service renewals and seven (7) fire hydrant assemblies, approximately 7 disconnection locations from existing water main and asphalt trench cut and replacement; sidewalk and curb and gutter improvements; and approximately 7,800 square yard of asphalt milling in North Church Street asphalt and asphalt resurfacing. The Work shall be performed in phases as described on project plans and as listed here: 1. Asphalt cuts, water main installation including fire hydrants, water services, and sanitary sewer manhole installation and sewer line replacement; storm sewer improvements including earth fill in specific areas, and street cut patching should be accomplished prior to street surface milling. All the items including in this first phase of work should be accomplished in the order that most fits the required sequence (water mains before laterals) or contractor preference (water, sewer, etc.). 2. Clearing and grubbing can be accomplished any time prior to street surface milling and resurfacing. 3. Sidewalk and curb demolition and replacement should be accomplished after utility improvements, and clearing and grubbing. 4. Street milling and resurfacing should be accomplished after all other major work has been accomplished. 5. Obviously street parking stripping and curb painting should be accomplished last.
