The Project includes bituminous pavement rehabilitation at the PDCM facility including bituminous paving, crack sealing, sealcoating, pavement striping, and associated grading and restoration. A. Rehabilitate the existing pavements and construct new site improvements as identified on the construction plans and described below. Bituminous Reclaim & Repave: In the bituminous reclaim and repave areas, reclaim the identified bituminous pavements to the specified depths. Regrade and remove excess reclaim materials as necessary for placement of new bituminous pavement, match existing pavement elevations unless otherwise directed by the Engineer or as necessary to ensure positive drainage of all pavement areas. Following base aggregate grading and compaction, coordinate with the Owner's Testing Agency and Engineer to conduct a proof roll test with a fully loaded tandem axle dump truck. Upon approval of base aggregate, place and compact new bituminous pavement sections as specified. Bituminous Repairs: At designated pavement repair areas, mill and/or remove the identified pavement sections to the specified depths. At full-depth pavement repair areas, saw cut the Larson Engineering, Inc. 01 11 00-3 edges of all existing pavements to remain. Where existing base aggregate is exposed, regrade and add/remove base aggregate as necessary, then thoroughly recompact base materials in accordance with the project specifications. Thoroughly sweep all repair areas clean and apply uniform tack coat to surfaces being overlaid, including all adjacent vertical edges. Place and compact new bituminous pavements as specified. Crack Seal: Within the identified pavement areas, route, sterilize, and crack seal all pavement joints greater than 1/4 wide with a hot-applied, rubberized asphalt, in accordance with the project specifications. Sealcoating: Where indicated on the drawings, complete bituminous sealcoating in accordance with the plans and specifications. After all paving and site improvement work is complete, backfill and restore all adjacent landscaping and disturbed areas. New gravel shoulders shall be placed and compacted as detailed on the plans. New bituminous pavements shall be backfilled flush along the edges and adjacent areas re-graded as necessary to ensure positive drainage off the pavements. Restore all disturbed turf and landscape areas with new seed. Re-stripe all disturbed pavement surfaces and any existing markings as noted on the plans. Match existing colors unless otherwise noted. All new striping shall receive two coats of paint; restripe areas shall receive one coat. Furnish and install new signage per the plans and specifications.
