NOTICE is hereby given that sealed bids will be received for the Commerce Street Sidewalk Project. Complete sets of the plans, specifications, and other bidding documents may be obtained from the City Clerk at City Hall. The City of Elgin reserves the right to reject and refuse all bids. Each written request for such interpretation should be addressed to the City Clerk at 8183 State Hwy 17, Elgin, Oklahoma, 73538. To be given consideration, each such request must be received at least ten (10) days prior to the date fixed for the opening of bids. Project Scope of Work Sidewalk Construction Specifications 1. Sidewalk will be 5 feet wide throughout the entire length of the sidewalk. 2. Saw cut control joints every 8 feet; joints to be 1 inch deep. 3. Base rock shall be Type A, installed at 4 inches thick across the entire length of sidewalk. 4. #3 rebar installed at 18-inch centers in both directions; rebar placed in the upper one-third (1/3) of the concrete slab. 5. 4,000 PSI concrete shall be used; concrete thickness shall be 4 inches. 6. Remove grass and topsoil as required; allow for 4 inches of base material and 4 inches of concrete; subgrade compacted to a minimum of 95%. 7. Cross slope of sidewalk shall not exceed 2%. 8. Light broom finishes. 9. Contractor must install red tactile mats at the beginning of each ramp to sidewalk. 2. Project Quantities Total sidewalk length: 1,650 linear feet Sidewalk width: 5 feet 3. Project Completion Timeline All work, including cleanup, shall be completed within 90 calendar days from the date of award.
