Sealed bids are requested for Asbestos Abatement at Thornton Township High School and Thornridge High School, located at 15001 Broadway Avenue and 15000 Cottage Grove Ave., respectively. Removal Specifications can be obtained from the Consultant, Midwest Environmental Consulting Services, Inc., with a required non-refundable deposit for each set. Bidders must call prior to picking up the specifications. A mandatory one-time continuous Pre-Bid Walkthrough of both projects is required for bidders; failure to attend will result in disqualification. Each bid must include a Bid Guarantee in the form of a Bid Bond from a company with an A-1 best rating, equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the bid amount, made payable to Thornton Township High School District #205. No bid may be withdrawn for thirty (30) days after the opening date without the Owner's consent. Unsuccessful bidders’ checks or drafts will be returned after the bids are checked. The successful bidder must provide both a Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond in the full amount of the Contract. Bidders are to submit a lump sum bid and alternate bids for the entire project, including the cost of the required performance and payment bond. The Asbestos Abatement Contractor is responsible for all work outlined in the project specifications not bid as a separate contract, but not for coordination of trades not part of the Contractor's scope. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities in bidding.
